The whole new US Pavilion

On December 17th 2014, during the opening ceremony of Sino-US tourism cooperation forum, Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang said that China and the United States now run the largest bilateral tourism agreement worldwide: better liberalization of the tourism sector and further development of infrastructures, proven field effects, quick economic and trade cooperation development, cultural exchanges, etc. The strengthened tourism cooperation is not only is the consensus of the two governments, but the desire of two nations.

In the last decade, the number of tourists travelling between China and the US has totaled 28 million, growing at an average annual rate of 10%. There are, on average, 250 flights between the two countries each week and the number from Chicago to China alone exceeds 30 flights. The news of the United States' extension in the validity of short-term tourist visas for Chinese applicants from one to ten years has contributed to an environment of unprecedented opportunities for tourism cooperation between China and the US.

From January to November, 2014, while US tourists visiting China hit 1.91 million, the number of mainland tourists to the US reached 2.12 million, up 15.5% over the previous year.  The total number of Chinese tourists to the US is expected to exceed 20 million from 2015 to 2020.

On 7-10 May 2015, the 12th Shanghai World Travel Fair will dedicate a specific area for the United States pavilion, attracting Chinese buyers and invited travel industry professionals who will be able to better understand a major destination and its wide range of products and services.
